My Sister & The Sea is a 1950's weatherboard cottage transported from Sweden. Nestled in nature, this holiday house offers a romantic, rustic, vintage charm. Perfect for unwinding, connecting and creating memories to last a lifetime.
Located on the picturesque Yorke Peninsula, My Sister and the Sea is a 3-hour drive from Adelaide sitting on the doorstep of the Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park. Explore the natural beauty of coastal hidden treasures with several beaches within a short walk or drive.
Our family has fallen in love with this place and now want to share this secret with you. Come and swim in front of shipwrecks, laze on the deck, do jigsaw puzzles and game nights, read on the day beds, immerse yourself in nature and explore Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park. Winters are ideal for spending time by the fire reading, drinking wine & napping in the French linen sheets. A blend of relaxation and adventure awaits.

Escape to the serene coastal town of Marion Bay and experience the ultimate relaxation at our cosy beach cottage. With 3 bedrooms, our cosy coastal retreat comfortably sleeps 6 guests, making it the perfect getaway for families or groups of friends.
Unwind on our outdoor deck and enjoy the tranquil surroundings, or take a soak in the outdoor bath for the ultimate relaxation experience under the stars. After a day of beach activities, swimming, and bushwalking in the nearby Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park, return to the cottage for cosy evenings by the fire.
Curl up with a good book, listen to records, or challenge your friends to a game night. Our cottage is the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with family, friends and nature.
We have two Queen Size bedrooms, plus a twin room with two singles, a full country style kitchen with large country living table, homely laundry, WiFi, air conditioning, heating, a slow combustion wood fireplace and firewood.
Relaxation is bestowed upon this home, with day beds, hammocks, indoor and outdoor bathing under the stars.
Out the back is a large deck area for brunch, long lunches and dinner with family and friends. A separate living room to the rear of the property provides a retreat for listening to vinyl on the record player that is Bluetooth enabled. A selection of old school LP'S are available to take you back to another era.
Note, there is deliberately no TV here to enable you to reconnect and immerse yourself in the surroundings. If you desire, please bring your own devices for WiFi connection to Netflix like we do.
Make unforgettable memories with your loved ones. The property offers plenty for everyone, along with kid-friendly amenities like games, and the natural outdoor play area including a sand pit. A beach cricket set is available for those competitive families. Don't forget to bring your paddle board or fishing gear. The shallow waters of Marion Bay and nearby beaches with rock pools make for a quiet and safe environment for all.
Also perfect for the romantic getaway with that special someone. Take a gentle bush walk in the national park along secluded beaches. Enjoy breathtaking coastal sunsets with yummy cheese platters and cool drinks, just the way we like it. By night cuddle up and enjoy a nice bottle of wine around the fire pit whilst listening to some soothing tunes.
Make unforgettable memories with your loved ones. Marion Bay is a perfect base for exploring Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park and the 'bottom end' of the yorke peninsula. It is surrounded by beaches with a sheltered swimming beach popular with families and a surf beach on the other side.
Popular as a fishing destination, the town offers great boat, jetty, beach, rock and surf fishing. A boat ramp is available alongside the jetty. Surfers are spoilt for choice, with several popular surfing beaches found in Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park. The park provides great opportunities for bush and beach walking, photography and bird watching.
Also found in Marion Bay is the award-winning Marion Bay Tavern renown for delicious wood oven pizza among other dishes.
A General Store is located within Marion Bay, however only limited supplies of essentials are provided. It is advised to bring your own supplies or venture to Yorketown to the local Foodland supermarket if required.
Bushwalking is a great way to discover the park, with trails of various degrees of difficulty, ranging from 30-minute to four-hour treks. You’ll spot an abundance of wildlife while you catch some of the best coastal views in South Australia.
Visit one of the lighthouses and many shipwrecks to learn about the early explorers and settlement history of South Australia. Surrounded by towering cliffs, the Ethell shipwreck is a must see being fully exposed on land.
All of the park is accessible by 2WD, so it’s perfect for day visits and a paradise for beach lovers. A day pass will be available for guests.

Our family's love for My Sister and the Sea and the outdoors extends to beach days with activities like beach cricket, rock pool swimming, fishing, and enjoying the tranquility of nature. Walking along the beach is a favorite pastime, with Bonnie our Border Collie bounding ahead of us, wagging her tail in delight.
In the evenings, we gather around the table to play card or board games, laughing and teasing each other in friendly competition. The crackling fire provides a glow to the room. The sound of vinyl records fills our home, adding a touch of nostalgia and warmth to our evenings together.
These simple yet meaningful moments are what makes our family time so special. Whether we're hosting friends for a BBQ or a weekend away, or simply relaxing, we cherish every moment spent together at My Sister and the Sea, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
